Here Today... Gone Tomorrow (Great Aunt Coleslaw) Remember when I met you And you said you liked me melodies? And we debated about the Beatles vs the Stones I laughed cause you knew every song It seemed to be a game to you And to this day I still don’t know how you played like that You played me a composition that you must have just written Cause the smile on your face was so revealing You had God given talent and theres so much more about that That could be said We’re here today, we’re gone tomorrow We’re here today, we’re gone tomorrow We’re here today, we’re gone tomorrow Drinking homemade coffee at the table in your kitchen Oh the laughter we created making music Violin or cello and guitar maybe piano Was there anything that you couldn’t do? Thinking past the sadness I’m reminded of the gladness That you gave to all the people who heard your guitar A friend’s never forgotten We’ll embrace all that you taught us We’re just grateful that you were here We’re here today, we’re gone tomorrow We’re here today, we’re gone tomorrow We’re here today, we’re gone tomorrow

Candy Apple Mountain (Great Aunt Coleslaw) Whoever opened the door Let the wind blow in And knocked me off my feet How it used to be How it used to seem Everything rolls then changes And Candy Apple Mountain has bits of sugar on top Candy Apple Mountain has bits of sugar on top Candy Apple Mountain has bits of sugar on top Has bits of sugar on top Has bits of sugar on top Whoever turned out the light Didn’t realize I needed it to see How God used to be How God seems to be Everything rolls and changes And Candy Apple Mountain has bits of sugar on top Candy Apple Mountain has bits of sugar on top Candy Apple Mountain has bits of sugar on top Has bits of sugar on top Has bits of sugar on top And Candy Apple Mountain has bits of sugar on top

about

Taurus is the seventh album this year that was written by My Great Aunt Coleslaw.  When she awoke for a burlap nap, she was cold and shivering. A quick shot into the arm with the bionic symptom of mass influence, she slipped into the emptiness. Her vision was clouded, not sensed or even turned around before. To be the last one, she retreated into the white of density.

Her depth of miraculous notions stalked My Great Aunt Coleslaw. Underneath her gleaming shadow of whole goodness, she crept on to her brothers dream, taking it over. It began as a fruitful affair. Yet it turned overnight.

The music of TAURUS, is rooting in the themes of death and loss. The opening track Here Today, Gone Tomorrow is a love song written to My Great Aunt Coleslaw's friend who left the earth too soon. The Music Spoke To Me is intact a recollection of the meeting of that spirit on a different plain of existence, and Candy Apple Mountain is the choice of heaven or hell. Two solo piano pieces accompany this album. Post-Societal Allusion in C Mixolydian Major is a two part invention and a mirror image of Johann Sebastian Bach's C Minor Prelude transcribed by My Great Aunt Coleslaw, while Violent Paper Sunrise is a microtonal composition in 13 tone equal temperament. Crocodile Tears, the album closer, is played on a custom 6 string Wing Bass tuned D,A,E,B,C#,F# and is meant to make the listener feel like they are hearing beautiful music, when they are actually not.

The Book of Slaw: Songs From My Great Aunt Coleslaw is a year long project dedicated to the life of Elk Minister’s Great Aunt Coleslaw. The 26 albums will be released every two weeks in 2018, now dubbed The Year of The Elk. The release schedule follows a strict 28 day, 13 month calendar based around the 13 zodiac signs. This calendar, like all the music and lyrics on The Book of Slaw, was created by Great Aunt Coleslaw when she studied with Pythagoras of Samos.
